I used a good quality very fine glass nail file and wanted to see how the SoundFile product works compared to what I had. I ordered the glass nail file, sandpaper, and a case. The previous nail file produced a powder like byproduct while this one is more flaky, and the nail file’s surface texture is different. The size and geometry of the nail file is perfect. Shaping is much easier and the result is better, cleaner. Only a minimal sandpaper is needed at the end. It really makes a difference. The case and packaging also nice and useful, practical, to keep the nail file and sandpaper together. For classical guitar players it is definitely recommended.

This is a big upgrade from using ordinary emory boards. I like how it removes nail material quickly but smoothly too. Glass does not wear out so it will last a long time. It does come with a small pouch so I did’t need the extra case but it is larger and handy to keep other things. I love the file and I don’t have to say how important nails are for sound. I play finger style steel string and electric bass guitar, nails matter on both instruments. Very happy with the purchase even though it was a splurge.
